Hirschfeld Industries Awarded Texas A&M Kyle Field Redevelopment Project

Hirschfeld Industries was awarded the Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection package for the Kyle Field Redevelopment Project at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas by Construction Manager, Manhattan|Vaughn. Manhattan|Vaughn is a joint venture team of Manhattan Construction Company and Vaughn Construction.

The renovation and expansion of Kyle Field is one of the largest college football stadium redevelopments in history, with a project cost of $450 million and approximately 14,000 tons of structural steel. Work will begin immediately following the 2013 football season and is scheduled for completion in time for the 2015 season. Stadium capacity will be 102,500.  The Aggies will continue to play at the historic stadium, which dates back to 1927, during the entire construction process.

“Hirschfeld is excited to join the Manhattan|Vaughn team building the new Kyle Field at Texas A&M,” stated Dennis Hirschfeld, Hirschfeld’s CEO and Texas A&M Civil Engineering graduate.  “As we are a Texas based company, I am particularly proud that Hirschfeld will be fabricating the largest college stadium in Texas and among the very largest in the country.”

Kyle Field is a tremendous addition to Hirschfeld’s industry-leading portfolio of stadiums and sports venues, which includes Reliant Stadium, Minute Maid Park, Soldier Field, Lucas Oil Stadium, Heinz Field, Busch Stadium and PNC Park.  It also adds to two decades of Hirschfeld’s construction presence at Texas A&M; notably, Reed Arena and the Recreational Sports Facility.
