Atlanta International Airport People Mover
Clayton County, Georgia
This design-build project consists of the 1.5-mile-long elevated double alignment guide way, including a complete operating Automated People Mover (APM) System. Steel fracture critical box girders are used for the longer spans over Interstate 85 and the main terminal entrance road. The steel spans comprise a four-span section and a two-span section. The four-span section bridges are over I-85, CSX Railroad and MARTA. The two-span section bridges are over the main entrance and exit roadway to the Atlanta International Airport.
The complete APM system consists of six trains made up of two cars each, which includes a backup train and a standby train that will operate in a closed loop configuration.
